Conjure Who Were The Prophets

There were quite a few Prophets in the Bible; but since I work with the Old Testament those are the Prophets we will look at. First off you may be wondering what a Prophet is. A Prophet is a person God chooses to speak his word. God goes directly to the Prophet and tells him what he wants of him. If you look in Numbers 12 V 1-8 you will see that Aaron and Miriam tried to be the go between Moses and God. God put a stop to that fast. God went straight to Moses and told him what he wanted him to do.
This also tells us that we don’t need a go between to reach God he is there waiting. If you look in the book of “Kings” you will find out about the Prophet Elijah. God sent Elijah out to meet with “Ahab”. Elijah just showed up one day. You see there was a problem with Jezebel; Ahab’s wife. She was ordering Gods Prophets be put to death. Of course God didn’t appreciate this so he sent Elijah in. It’s a whole bunch of drama. Of course King Ahab couldn’t listen so God through Elijah brought down a drought; no rain in sight. The drought lasted until God told Elijah it was over.
Are you wondering how Elijah made it through the drought? Well God had a widow woman and her son helped him. In 1Kings 17 we see that God commanded a widow to help Elijah. We also see that the Ravens fed him while he waited for Gods next move. Elijah also brought the widows son back from death.
1King 17 V2-7
2 Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, 3 “Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. 4 And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”
5 So he went and did according to the word of the Lord, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. 6 The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook. 7 And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

  1. Thanks for sharing about the prophets, I could use reminding of these and what they did.
