Copy Cat Hoodoo

I recently did a blog post on some sweetening and domination work. Eventually I found my work duplicated elsewhere. The ironic thing about this is that the copycatter is a "spiritual worker." I don't like to stir up mess or anything but I have to speak the truth.

If you are truly who you say you are then you don't need to steal anybody's information just to make yourself look good. I've seen a lot of this over the years with Internet hoodoos. They dig around through HYATT books, Cat's website and course, Old Style Conjure, and other workers searching for information. These same workers either (1) repeat the same information usually word for word or (2) change it around just a little bit to make it seem different even though it's a repeat of stuff that other worker's have said or taught over the years.

I don't believe in cat calling because frankly I think that is childish but I do believe that as conjure workers we have the right to speak out the truth and call out the bs when necessary. The truth of the matter is that if you are truly what you allege let that show in your own work, action, and character. Your actions will speak for themselves. Don't copycat me or any other workers for that matter and then try to make yourself look high and mighty. The bs is obvious especially to anyone who really pays attention and has discernment. 2. Not only that be these thieves have to be rather stupid. I mean, people have their own style of working and people who are familiar with a worker can pick up on that style, not to mention the times when they steal things word for word.

All this thievery does is make it so that real workers don't want to share their info. Because I know I've had to delete blogs when I was just about to hit publish for fear that people were just going to steal it and claim it as their own. It's like a balancing act, what should I give away and what should I keep. But all workers have to juggle that.

I hope you called the thief out. I have no problem doing so. If it's on a forum I will usualy respond with something like, "Excuse me, you stole that from Cat Yronwode, Momma Starr, myself, whatever". Just so people know. Because if you don't people don't have a clue and really believe these thieves have all this knowledge.

Ex - I went and searched YouTube for "Hoodoo Magnets" and found some videos. I wasn't surprised by the uploaders but it was the comments that really got to me.

  3. I didn't want to stir up mess but I couldn't keep quiet any longer Doc. It's especially irritating to me because I'm noticing what appears to be unnecessary competition. I don't care about the "Who's Who of Hoodoo?" There's no need to try and be first runner up or any of that mess...

I could see it from my backyard. Either your work or the work of others is being repeated by bootleg workers. These workers will also take your work and change it around a little so it can "look" different.

Some of these workers talk a good game but they don't have a pot to piss in when it comes to Conjure work. Just like the dirt from a cul de sac the bullshit keeps running in circles. When will it ever end...

I'll have to go check out those comments on the videos Doc. Drlovebug
